This coming weekend, Thurs Sept 3rd to Mon Sept 7, I will be attending the wonderful Oasis weekend spanking party in Las Vegas. At the large Vendors Fair on Friday night, and by appointment throughout the weekend in our suite, I will be selling restored, antique implements and vintage clothing for my new venture, NS Mercantile.

The NS Mercantile vibe fits perfectly with the “Regency Ball” theme of this year’s party – I may even have an item or two that dates from the early 1800’s! Ebony hairbrushes are my specialty, dating mostly from the Victorian/Edwardian period. Also, I have collected various other antique “implements” (re-purposed for disciplinary applications!) including leather straps, wooden paddles, swagger sticks and canes. My main focus is of course on hair and clothes brushes from the early Victorian period, through to Mid-Century and 1970’s/80’s – exactly the kind of thing waiting quietly on you mother’s dressing table, or hanging in the hall, waiting for the day to come when you misbehaved so badly that the threats would materialize and they would actually be called into use!
If you are a member of Fetlife, as I assume most reading this are(!) you can find out more about NS Mercantile HERE

While distracted from packing I wanted to do something fun, since I’ve been thinking a lot about the different time periods and art styles through history represented in my brush collection. Then I wondered what hairbrush some of the iconic American Girl dolls, or their mothers, might have…
All these hairbrushes will be on my table at the Vendor’s Fair on Friday!
